17-18 March 2023
The 6th ASIA Congress and Annual General Meeting will take place at the Hong Kong Sports Institute from 17 to 18 March 2023 (Fri & Sat).
Organized by the Hong Kong Sports Institute, the theme of the Congress is ‘Support that enables sports and athletes to excel – from the starting line to the podium’. The Congress will provide a platform for participants to exchange and understand the recent developments and practices, such as research and support services, that contribute to the nurturing of elite athletes and making of champions. Policy-makers and administrators,
sports scientists, coaches, athletes and educators who are interested in enhancing the future of Asian sports are welcome to join us.

Next Stage: Our Challenges Beyond Tokyo 2020 and Beijing 2022
The ASIA Virtual Workshop – Next Stage: Our Challenges Beyond Tokyo 2020 and Beijing 2022 – will be held on March 3rd, 2022.
The workshop is organized by the Japan Sport Council (JSC) and focuses on athlete support adapted to the “New Normal” as well as strategic planning and collaborations among ASIA members.
Consisting of three sessions, participants will learn about different approaches to high-performance sport management and strategies throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and get the chance to reconnect as well as kick-of new collaborations. At each session, speakers will provide insights from their experiences and the best practices in Asia.
The registration is open to all sport administrators, practitioners, educators, coaches and students from ASIA member’s and non-ASIA member’s organizations.

New Update: The 5th ASIA Congress & Annual General Meeting,
22-26 February 2021
The 5th ASIA Congress and Annual General Meeting will be held virtually from 22nd-26th February 2021 for the first time in our history due to COVID-19 situation.
The 5th Congress is organized by the Japan Sport Council (JSC), the theme is "New-norm in High-Performance Sport with COVID-19 and the Future of Sport in Asia".
The Congress will highlight the new-norm in high-performance sports and the role of high-performance sports for the society in the post corona world. And at each
session, speakers will provide insights from their experiences and the best practices in Asia to overcome challenges that Asian countries are facing to develop sports.
The registration is opened to all sport administrators, practitioners, educators, coaches and students from ASIA member’s and Non-ASIA member’s organisations.

New Update: 3rd ASIA Congress & Annual General Meeting, 7-9 November 2018
This year’s 3rd ASIA Congress and Annual General Meeting will this year take place in conjunction with Singapore Sport Science Symposium at the Singapore Sports Institute. From 7th-9th November 2018
Organized by the Singapore Sport Institute (SSI), the theme for the first two days of the Singapore Sport Science symposium is ‘From Youth to Elite Sport – Harnessing Potential and the Pursuit of Excellence’. It builds on from 2017’s focus on biomechanics and physiology to mental well-being and recovery this year. The symposium will provide sport administrators, practitioners, educators, coaches and students opportunities to engage in conversations on bio-psychosocial, environmental and contextual factors that contribute to youth athlete development, and the utility of various sport science and medicine disciplines to prepare elite athletes holistically.

New Update: ASIA welcomes visitors to the ‘POCARI SWEAT OASIS’
at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta!
A.S.I.A and Otsuka Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd., the official sponsor of the Asian Games 2018, will jointly launch the
POCARI SWEAT OASIS (Otsuka-ASIA Sharing & Inspiring Station)
during the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta, Indonesia.
The ‘OASIS’ will be set-up as a multi-use lounge / office space which will provide a platform for knowledge sharing, meeting, and networking for ASIA members, Asian HPC representatives and other stakeholders.

New Update: ASIA New Members Admission Ceremony
28 April 2017, Hong Kong, China
Six Asian high performance sporting institutes, have today taken part in a signing ceremony, inaugurating them as new members of the ‘Association of Sports Institutes in Asia’ (ASIA). They will join forces with the current founding members; Aspire Academy (Qatar), Hong Kong Sports Institute, Japan Sport Council and Singapore Sport Institute. The signing ceremony forms part of the 2nd ASIA Congress, which is currently being held at the Hong Kong Sports Institute where participants from over 15 countries have gathered to discuss, debate and explore ways of enhancing the future of high performance sport in Asia.

Objectives of ASIA
- To set up a platform for sharing and exchanging knowledge and expertise in relation to high performance training;
- To cooperatively develop and enhance the quality, function, management, and operation of high performance institutes that will directly and indirectly influence the development of athletes, coaches, sports scientists and support staff;
- To foster the engagement and development of human resources who actively deliver services in the specific fields of high performance sport, so as to innovate practice and enhance the quality of program and service-delivery; and
- To demonstrate leadership and presence in raising the profile of high performance institutes of Asia both regionally and internationally by developing and operating collaborative activities.
ASIA is the region's first association bringing together Asian high performance training centres. It is a non-profit and non-government organization with a mission to foster the best practices in the area of long term Asian athlete development through a comprehensive model of collaboration, exchange of expertise and networking opportunities for administrators of high performance across all of Asia.
